Discover Gloucester is fortunate to have such fantastic regional tourism partners in North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau! Our collaborative partner event hosted by Gloucester’s gorgeous year-round music venue, The Cut, was such a fun way to celebrate the start of summer with tourism friends from around Essex County! Plus we got special guest visits from Kerrie Tripp at Discover New England and VIP Kim Knox Beckius of Yankee Magazine who got a behind-the-scenes tour of The Cut, followed by a morning at Maritime Gloucester! Plus, Discover Gloucester’s 2024 VIP Port Package is out and being shared with our many visitors-by-boat renting moorings in Gloucester Harbor. It’s been a jam packed few weeks — from the Eric Pape exhibit opening at Hammond Castle Museum, to the Discover New England International Tourism Summit in the White Mountains at Omni Hotels & Resorts Mt. Washington, Business After Hours with the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce at The Cut - Gloucester’s new(ish) year-round entertainment venue and restaurant, then the grand opening of M/N Gallery with artists Vanessa Michalak and Rebecca Nagle, to this morning’s Essex Heritage Spring Meeting at the breathtaking HAMILTON HALL INC in Salem — there are so many exciting happenings, programs, businesses and experiences blooming and waking up this spring. Had an amazing time co-teaching a Travel Writing class at Salem State University with Kathryn Horrigan today! We discussed how DMOs like Discover Gloucester and Destination Salem work with travel media, my insight as a freelance writer for outlets like WDW Magazine and several other theme park websites and publications, as well as how to work with DMOs from the aspiring travel writer’s perspective. Always grateful for the opportunity to inspire future writers! 📝

Yesterday’s Governor’s Conference was jam packed with industry information, innovative ideas, and tourism data — a hugely valuable event! I am grateful to Kate Fox & the full MOTT team for pulling such a polished, forward-thinking conference together on a short timeline — everyone walked away with new insights!
