The City of Saint Paul's project to replace the 3rd Street/Kellogg Bridge is moving along this fall. This weekend showed the bridge decking completely removed on a large part of the 44-year-old, 2,100-foot long structure, leaving only the piers left standing. When opened in 2027, the replacement bridge will carry Metro Transit's Gold Line rapid transit buses. #construction #infrastructure #transportation #masstransit

The picturesque Minnesota #IronRange town of Cook, devastated by #flooding last month, has landed $2.5 million in emergency funding from the Department of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation. On June 19, floodwaters from the Little Fork River measuring several feet rushed through downtown Cook, impacting #residences and many #SmallBusiness owners while more than 40 roads in St. Louis County, MN were washed out or flooded. This natural disaster ranks as the second-largest in the county since the 1990s. Some findings in 2024 Minnesota Housing Partnership's State of the State's Housing report: 1) #Multifamily housing is #affordable for only half of Minnesota renters; 2) Median rent is up 8% in just one year; 3) Evictions are up 44% from pre-COVID levels; 4) No. of cost-burdened households are up 9% in one year; 5) Four of the top five in-demand jobs‘ wages aren’t enough for quality multifamily housing. Transwestern says the downtown City of Minneapolis landmark on Thursday will celebrate the grand opening of a new Gray Fox Coffee outlet located in a skyway-level space that has been vacant for six years! Brokers SVN | Northco Real Estate Services have listed a half-acre surface parking lot in the city's popular Cathedral Hill neighborhood, advising it could host a multifamily building of up to 80 units under existing zoning. The price isn't specified but is "based on 60-80 Unit Multifamily Development."
