The technology also has a positive effect on the patient experience, with 96 percent of patients stating they are likely to recommend the provider who uses it. When clinicians talk about documenting patient visits, here’s what they mention: - having to remember encounters long after the visit - typing while talking with a patient (but kind of pretending not to) - staying late to finish charting (and missing out on family time) Not ideal for the moment of care. Certainly not ideal for the clinician's day. With that in mind, it’s really satisfying to hear when our ambient AI solves those issues, and makes for a better care experience. That's what's happening right now at Ochsner Health - and we couldn't be prouder. We traveled to Louisiana to talk with Innovation Officer Jason Hill, MD, and some of the physicians at Ochsner Health, about delivering care and the role DeepScribe now plays in improving their lives. "...the doctor asked him, ‘What does your mom play with when she’s with you?’ and my son answered, ‘She works on her computer.’ That just about broke me — I’m still sad about it." The above quote begins a recent MedCity News article. It's from a physician recounting a conversation between her 5 year-old son and the pediatrician. The "computer work" was after-hours clinical documentation. Of course, healthcare organizations of all sizes are battling against the pains of "pajama time" work with ambient AI scribing. This great MedCity piece from Katie Adams checks out how ambient AI is playing a role at three major health systems - one is Ochsner Health, with DeepScribe ambient AI. At Ochsner Health, 96% of patients who've seen a clinician using DeepScribe ambient AI said they would likely recommend that provider.
