  • We’re excited to share that Deborah Heart and Lung Center has successfully implanted the Barostim™ device— an innovative heart failure therapy. Gregory Domer, MD, division director, Vascular Surgery, Deborah Heart and Lung Center, notes, “We are thrilled to offer this new heart failure technology to our patients. Studies show that Barostim™ patients had three times greater improvement in quality of life scores than patients on medications alone.   • 🌟 Meet Our September Stars! 🌟We’re excited to highlight Kathleen Silvia, Food/Nutritional Services; Zachary Estep, DO, Cardiology; and Dara Henry, Pathology. Learn more about them below! Kathleen’s contributions have been greatly appreciated since joining Deborah in October 2020 as a Food Service Worker on the evening shift. Despite the hectic pace, she prepares and delivers food trays without hesitation. She responds to patient requests with kindness and compassion, brightening everyone’s day with her cheery disposition. Kathleen exemplifies excellence in customer service and is a vital member of the Deborah team. Dr. Estep has provided excellent clinical care since joining Deborah as a Cardiology Fellow in July 2023. He goes above and beyond to ensure his patients are prepared and ready for their procedures. He never hesitates to assist when called upon, managing issues from start to finish. His strong work ethic and team-based approach help the unit run efficiently. Deborah is grateful for Dr. Estep’s unwavering dedication and inspiring commitment to excellence. Since joining Deborah in August 2018 as a Phlebotomist, Dara has shown exceptional commitment to her department and patients. Professional and pleasant, she frequently receives compliments on her phlebotomy skills. Dara is flexible with her schedule, often covering extra shifts to meet departmental needs. She consistently conducts herself with respect and gives her all to her job, displaying a positive approach and setting a fine example for others.
