Great insight into the 2024 election shared today by WFAA-ABC News Reporter Jason Whitely and SMU Political Science Professor Dr. Matthew Wilson at the Tuesday edition of the Dallas Friday Group. TAKEAWAYS: not surprisingly, this will be a close election across the ballot, and nationally the vote is likely to come down to about 15 key counties. Also, Texans are voting early more than ever before—approximately 30% of registered Texas voters have voted to date. Thanks to our sponsors for their continued support, including Platinum sponsor Brunswick Group; Gold sponsor Axxess; and Silver sponsors Atmos Energy, AT&T, Oncor Electric Delivery, Tolleson Wealth Management, and Arlington Hall at Turtle Creek Park. Thanks to our speakers, sponsors, and guests for a vibrant Q&A discussion at today’s luncheon. We look forward to our next gathering, a Dallas Friday Group happy hour on November 19, and our December annual meeting. More details to come soon.

On her 100th day serving as City of Dallas Interim City Manager, Kim Tolbert keynoted the September 27th Dallas Friday Group meeting. Thanks to Kim and moderator Elizabeth Saab, MBA, Chief of Strategy, Engagement and Alignment, for their conversation and insight. Key takeaways include: - Embrace change and focus on leading change responsibly. - Disruptive thinking can be positive and innovative. - Kim has reorganized the city organization chart and brought in new leaders. The result includes a majority-female senior management team. - Innovative ideas for recruitment and retention of first responders don’t have to be costly. - Collaboration with the city council is positive and productive. - Three adjectives that describe her vision for the city: 1) trustworthy, 2) accountable, and 3) transparent. Up next: our October meeting and a member happy hour in November. Details coming soon | www.dallasfridaygroup.com. Thanks to our sponsors for their ongoing support. PLATINUM | Brunswick Group. GOLD | Axxess. SILVER | Oncor Electric Delivery, Tolleson Wealth Management, AT&T, Atmos Energy, and @Turtle Creek Park Conservancy.
