The DCH Foundation is thrilled to host our 19th annual golf outing once again at River Valley Golf Course in Adel. We have five team spots remaining and will once again have a full outing once those are filled. The Foundation has been supporting many projects throughout the hospital this year, including a surgery renovation and expansion project, procuring a blanket warmer in our outpatient infusion clinic which serves oncology patients, and making purchase of replacement equipment in our Clinics possible to ensure we're treating patients throughout our county with the latest equipment. The Foundation also awards scholarships to health care students and replenishes the blessing box at the front of the hospital to assist community members facing food insecurity. Breakfast and lunch are included in the cost. This is a best ball event, and we have some awesome prizes up for raffle, as well as to award our top golfers that day. Join us for a fun fall Friday of golf while supporting a great cause. Please email [email protected] if you're interested in joining!

September is just about here! Urology Week will occur September 23-29 this year, and this is an important time to remind about the urology services we offer at DCH. Issues like urinary incontinence and fecal incontinence can be sensitive and challenging to discuss, but they're more common than you might think. 1 in 6 adults suffer from overactive bladder and 1 in 12 suffer from fecal incontinence. Dr. Fialkov is our visiting urologist at DCH and can visit with you about any symptoms you're experiencing and discuss treatment solutions. Some of these solutions can be conducted right here at DCH! NURO is available through our outpatient ambulatory center. NURO involves a simple needle placement in the ankle where this nerve is. The procedure entails 12 weeks of treatment for 30 minutes each week, and then possibly boosters after. 70% of patients report an improvement in urinary frequency, and this has been proven to be an alternative to surgery, benefiting those especially who are not surgery candidates. A referral to physical therapy with 21st Century Rehab may also be beneficial for you in learning exercises that could assist with bladder control. Your PCP is an excellent place to start if these symptoms are new or changing. All PCPs at DCH are accepting new patients! We are here for you. Call DCH today at 515.465.3547.
