You may already know that there is a critical zero-click vulnerability (CVE-2024-38063) affecting Windows systems with IPv6 enabled. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending specially crafted IPv6 packets, potentially allowing remote code execution without detection. While the severity is high (9.8/10), the risk to your organization is determined by your network's configuration. To determine if you are vulnerable, check if IPv6 is enabled on your systems. https://lnkd.in/d8KBG4_6

A recent update to CrowdStrike’s “Falcon Sensor” software caused a major IT outage, affecting global industries like banks, airlines, hospitals, and telecommunications by crashing Windows systems and displaying the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). CEO George Kurtz confirmed the issue is a software bug, not a cyberattack, and stated that a fix has been deployed, though recovery will take time. The outage impacted emergency services, airports, and hospitals worldwide, with significant disruptions reported in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia. Microsoft is aware of the issue and expects a resolution soon. CrowdStrike provided a workaround for affected systems: 1️⃣ Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment. 2️⃣ Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory. 3️⃣ Locate and delete the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”. 4️⃣ Boot the host normally. • • • #crowdstrike #microsoft #cytek #cybersecurity #bsod #IT
