A quick reflection on ITC 2024: - Since 2017, we have been actively attending and sponsoring ITC, witnessing the remarkable recent evolution of the industry driven by AI. - The permanence of Insurtech is evident, although we see a significant consolidation, leading to a shift towards fewer, stronger players. While automation is widespread, truly impactful advanced analytics technologies to enable lower loss ratios and better cat modeling remain scarce. As one attendee told me, some large leading technology companies founded in the early 2000s seemed more like Blockbuster and Blackberry towards the end in terms of the ability to innovate anything, stuck with an outdated value proposition. But that’s true in many industries, I assume. - Again, I would like to thank Garrett Koehn, Yosha DeLong of Mosaic Insurance, and Patrick Bourk of Navacord for participating in our panel on #CyberInsurance, The Final Frontier for Brokers. It was great having everyone over, and we have gotten tremendous insights on the panel! - A shoutout to the exceptional work of the @InsureTech Connect team, including Nicole Peck, Bill Harris, and Josh Grossman - The vibrant ITC and insurtech community help each other out to get innovation to the next level, thanks to individuals like David Kimmel Gilad Shai, Kobi Bendelak , Gustavo Roberto Vieira Doria Filho of CQCS Orna Carni and many others. It was great meeting old friends and new. Leading carriers and brokers, such as HSB - Hartford Steam Boiler—Hartford Steam Boiler, MAPFRE,  Markel, CRC Insurance Services, Howden Insurance Brokers Limited, Brown & Brown Insurance, PCF Insurance Services among others, continue to drive #innovation with implementations of cutting-edge technologies in IoT, Cyber, auto, life and health, and more. - Our team in cyberwrite including @Rami Parient, Hartmut Mai, Parker Beauchamp of Markd, Jolyn Winkler, Jack Corbett,Marco Lo Giudice, PhD, Tony Cabot, Douglas Robare, and everyone else that helped prepare and execute are an amazing group of professionals whom I’m proud to collaborate with! Looking forward to reconnecting next year!

It was an honor to moderate a thought-provoking panel at InsureTech Connect 2024 in Las Vegas, where I had the pleasure of guiding the conversation with industry experts Yosha DeLong (Head of Cyber, Mosaic Insurance), Garrett Koehn (Head of Innovation, CRC Insurance Services), and Patrick Bourk (Head of Cyber, Navacord) on how brokers can make the most of the cyber insurance opportunity. The discussion aimed at providing brokers with critical insights into the ever-evolving world of cyber insurance. It touched on crucial topics such as making cyber insurance accessible, underwriting innovations, including Cyberwrite's patented #AI, and the increasing need for economic impact quantification capabilities to help businesses drive the decision-making process. Here are some key #takeaways: 1. #Empowering Brokers: Brokers need to embrace innovative tools that streamline the sales of cyber insurance, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses. Adopting these tools will enable #brokers to serve this critical market more efficiently and effectively. 2. #Proactive Risk Management: The optimal time for #brokers to provide businesses with valuable risk insights is months before they begin preparing for the underwriting process. #Early risk information allows for better #remediation and preparation, ultimately leading to stronger coverage options. 3. With the right #data and #analytics, brokers were able to demonstrate the need for higher limits, and some clients have decided to #increase their cyber insurance limits by more than 10 times. This highlights the potential of leveraging data-driven models to #unlock greater limits for customers. 4. #Simplicity is Key: Brokers aren't expected to be cyber experts. Making cyber insurance #accessible starts with simplicity—tools that offer clear, easy-to-understand insights will drive broader adoption and success in the market. If you have not had a chance to see a Cyberwrite risk assessment, I highly encourage you to touch base for a free copy. It's been a valuable tool in helping clients determine an appropriate limit based on your peer group and revenue size. It also identifies vulnerabilities (such as open ports, software vulnerabilities and information on the Dark Web) that should be reviewed.
