𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗘𝗱𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀: 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗧 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Thank you to all who joined today’s CyberEdBoard Talk, Achieving Comprehensive OT Visibility and Resilience. We are especially grateful to our expert panelists — Chase Carpenter, Tammy Klotz, and David Ortiz — for sharing their valuable insights and experiences. Delighted to present some of the key insights drawn from today’s session: ▪️ 𝗢𝗧 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: OT visibility is an evolving and maturing process, with organizations at different stages of readiness. Legacy systems and connectivity issues continue to pose risks, especially in sectors like manufacturing, where security gaps can impact safety, availability, and revenue. ▪️ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Accurate asset inventories and dynamic vulnerability tracking are essential. A proactive approach helps identify risks early, whether assets are connected or non-connected, and enables better prioritization and risk mitigation. ▪️ 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗧 & 𝗢𝗧: Effective collaboration between IT and OT teams is key to building resilience. Trust-building, cross-team training, and practical exercises like cyber tabletop sessions foster better understanding and communication, creating a more cohesive security approach. ▪️ 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Strong partnerships with vendors enhance OT security. Engaging vendors that understand OT environments and are committed to bridging usability and security gaps can drive comprehensive OT visibility and resilience. ▪️𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: Resilience in OT environments relies on cross-functional teamwork, continuous learning, and a proactive approach to the unique challenges of the OT landscape. #CyberEdBoard #OTSecurity #Cybersecurity #OperationalTechnology #ITandOT #Resilience #AssetManagement #Visibility

Health-ISAC Experts on Obstacles to Sharing Healthcare Cybersecurity Information 📢 Transparency is crucial in building #cyberresilience, but healthcare organizations are often cautious about sharing critical information, fearing "it will come back to haunt them," said Errol Weiss, CSO at Health-ISAC. While reputational damage, legal issues, and potential lawsuits prevent organizations from coming forward in the event of an attack, it is an important step to keep the industry secure from similar attacks. "To beat one of us, they have to beat all of us," said Phil Englert, vice president of medical device security at Health-ISAC.
