We’re excited to highlight this inspiring story from @cunyedu about Adela Zamora’s recent trip back to Mexico! 🌍✨ Our own 2024 Studying Abroad: Language & Identity program is approaching next month, and we’re eagerly anticipating the journey. Adela's experience was more than just an academic venture; it was a profound personal reunion and exploration of her heritage. With support from @cunycitizenshipnow, 30 undocumented CUNY students and recent graduates had the opportunity to participate in this transformative journey. Adela, an alumna of @queenscollegeofficial, shared, “Traveling back to Mexico, which I once thought was out of reach, has reignited my hope.” Reconnecting with her family and immersing herself in her culture has empowered her with renewed strength and confidence. Now, with advanced parole, she is excited to pursue her green card and secure permanent legal status.

Today marks the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples 🌎 Established following a 1982 UN 🇺🇳 working group in Geneva, this day raises awareness about the rights and needs of Indigenous communities globally. At the MSI we recognize the importance of Indigenous voices in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable world.
