Meet Antonella Arnau: Au Pair of the Year for both Cultural Care Au Pair and the International Au Pair Association (IAPA) in 2023! Anto was in Krakow, Poland for the Work Experience Travel Market and IAPA Annual Conference (WETM-IAC) earlier this month, she and was able to share her experience as an au pair with U.S. State Department officials, Cultural Care staff and other attendees. “Being a part of this conference has opened my mind about the program and what it’s about. It’s not just about our experience as au pairs or as host families as individuals. It’s also about being open to knowing each other and being more tolerant and having the opportunity to open the world. Today, we’re proud to share that the Cultural Care Kids First Foundation recently donated to Molo Mhlaba schools to support girls’ education in South Africa. Until now, Molo Mhlaba has operated in rented space, but our contribution helped them in the construction of their own permanent building that will open to a whole new group of students very soon. Watch to learn more about Molo Mhlaba schools and the amazing leader behind their success: Dr. Rethabile Mashale Sonibare. Rethabile is the Managing Director at Molo Mhlaba, and she has devoted her life to helping under-privileged girls gain access to a quality, STEAM-focused education. 28 years ago I traveled to Italy with my roommate and dearest college friend. I had just started a new job at #EFEducationFirst and the trip was Life changing. 15 years ago, I traveled with #LCCs and #CulturalCareAuPair for an incentive trip to Rome, Florence and Venice and today marked my first time back with my family to experience the wonder and joy of travel and culture to these same beautiful magnificent cities. Seeing the wonder of it all through my family’s eyes was the greatest gift. If you can, get out and travel. Experience the world wherever it can take you. Meet others and share culture. An experience lasts a lifetime while a gift under the tree will be remembered for a few days.
