Had myself a full circle moment today. Two years ago, I sat in the Columbia University SPS MS in Strategic Communication orientation and today I presented as the Strategic Communication Career Coach representing the Career Design Lab - Columbia University School of Professional Studies . To say I’m proud to be an alumna of this program is an understatement, and I have nothing but excitement and pride for the new students embarking on this journey. One of the most common mistakes in #globalbranding is the assumption that what works in one market will translate seamlessly to another. Factors, including: 1) brand affinity, maturity and awareness 2) go-to-market distribution, advertising models and messaging 3) competitive landscape, 4) country of origin perception 5) consumer knowledge, behaviors, culture, beliefs and product preferences and MANY more must be considered for a multi-national brand or service to succeed. Each year in my “Communication and Global Brands” course at Columbia University SPS MS in Strategic Communication, we study Interbrand’s Best Global Brands report to better understand these complexities. Vngle was honored to serve as a capstone sponsor for the Columbia University SPS MS in Strategic Communication program! Our ask was BIG: How can Vngle revitalize its communication strategies to expand engagement and representation across America's most overlooked communities? This amazing group of Master's students, faculty, and researchers created strategies to help our team make that happen in BIG ways. We thank our capstone team Arion, Jada, Mandy, and Sylvia for everything they accomplished with their research! We also thank all the Columbia faculty and researchers who helped make this possible. The Vngle capstone produced new original data sourced from 400 people across 13 states, along with interviews and focus group insights that will kickstart a new era of connectivity for our team.
