CSG East serves all three branches of government in 13 member states, territories, and provinces.

About us

CSG’s Eastern Office, based in New York City, supports legislative, judicial, and executive-branch officials from its 13 member jurisdictions, which include the states from Maine to Maryland, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The five Eastern Canadian provinces of Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island are international affiliate members of CSG’s Eastern Region. CSG East is a not-for-profit association of state leaders and staff run for and by its members. Along with three other regional offices and the national headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, the organization provides a welcoming, nonpartisan network of peers from other states and branches of government, opportunities to grow leadership skills, forums to share ideas, and more.

These events - from our annual meeting to our in-person policy summits and trainings - make up the foundation of what we do to serve state leaders and this role is an exciting opportunity to grow into event planning and meet some of the most interesting people in the Northeast.     CSG East is kicking off a five-part webinar series on housing policy this Thursday! Facing a deepening housing crisis, state leaders are racing to stand up new housing programs and improve existing ones. To maximize the impact in their communities, many are leveraging federal funds and tapping partners at HUD. See how in this five-part series featuring presentations by HUD subject experts and discussions led by state officials on their successes and challenges with housing policies and programs.     In the U.S., public and private sector apprenticeships saw a 64% increase between 2012 and 2021. CSG and the Urban Institute have worked together for years to promote apprenticeships across the nation.
