Congratulations to our Managing Partner, Dwayne McKenzie, for his recognition in the Los Angeles Business Journal's "Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys" 2024 list. In this special section, the "LABJ" has gathered some of the very best labor and employment attorneys in the region, who have their finger on the ever-changing pulse of labor legislation, what changes have come to the labor law landscape in recent times, the new rules of hiring and firing, and the various trends that they have been tirelessly monitoring and managing for their clients. This is Dwayne's second consecutive year on the list. https://lnkd.in/gZzfdvG5 #leadersofinfluence #laborandemploymentlaw

We are excited to announce that Arielle O. Harris will be joining EBLC’s Board of Directors. Arielle is a partner at Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, where her practice largely focuses on land use and appellate matters. She represents developers, landowners, and public agencies in connection with entitlements, environmental review, and permitting for residential and mixed-use projects, transit-oriented infill developments, corporate campuses (including technology and biotechnology), office and industrial parks, retail, military base reuse projects, and public infrastructure projects (including water and solar). Arielle also helps project applicants, landowners, and public agencies resolve disputes arising out of the land use entitlement and permitting process. An experienced litigator, she represents clients in administrative hearings as well as in litigation at both the trial and appellate court level. Arielle will provide valuable insight to our advocacy efforts related to housing, land use, the environment, and more. Welcome to the team Arielle!

Peter Weiner was featured in a Los Angeles Times article to discuss a Biden-administration plan to build large-scale solar farms on federal lands, and the pros and cons of the decision. The plan would spread over 1.3 million acres over 11 states, from California to Wyoming – nearly the size of Delaware. The plan does include local wildlife habitat protections but conservationists don’t believe it does enough. Could this lead to project cancellations and the dissuading of investors from allocating resources towards future projects?
