💫 Congratulations, Ashley Miller on 7 years at CopyCat! 🌟 If you’ve called us or placed an order, it is highly likely that you know Ashley from CopyCat. She manages our office and knows almost all of our customers and their jobs by heart. ♥️ Today we are celebrating her 7th year anniversary, and couldn’t be more thankful to have her. 💕 Ashley has been with CopyCat since the day of her first interview back in 2017. At the end of her interview, I asked her if she could please come back and begin working right away because we were short staffed and super busy. She was back in less than a couple hours & jumped right into action. ⚙️🖨️ Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. WHAT ARE BLEEDS??? ✂️ Bleeds refer to excess design that “bleeds” off the edge of the final artwork area. 🫠 Most print machines do not output edge to edge printing, instead there is a thin white margin around the edge of the page. 🗺️ The way we achieve full bleed is to print on a larger sheet, then trim the white margin off the stack on a gullotine cutter. 🔪 If the artwork doesn’t reach the edges (all edges are white anyway) or you opt for a white margin then we skip this step. (Yes, it does cost more for a bleed, but sometimes it’s worth it to create a great design!) We trim stacks of paper as tall as about 4” and the industry standard of the cut is to be within approximately a 1/16” of an inch. 📏 We make your finished product look perfect by trimming the bleed off of the design so there’s no accidentally remaining thin white edges of the sheet after the trim and no text or important design aspects are accidentally trimmed off. 🖼️ This is one of the extremely important differences between digital design vs. print design and one of our most commonly asked questions! 💬 Make sure you are creating design intended for printed items that will look great in real life. What you see on screen can have some major differences to what final pieces will look like! 🖥️ Q: How much bleed do I need? A: Industry standard is .125” on all sides. So an 11x17” print should have 11.25x17.25” artwork. The .125” on right, left, top, & bottom adds .25” to each dimension (length + height). Q: How much more expensive is it? A: This depends on how many cuts. To do the machine cut adds about $10 flat* for smaller runs. So 10 sheets will cost about $1 more per page but for an order of 200 sheets will only add about 5 cents more per page. **$10 is a rough estimate only and can vary depending on specs, please contact us to get an accurate quote on your custom job! ** Have questions on how to set up your next print? 🌈 What are the top 3 ways to make sure you have a successful table display? We had the pleasure of working with Bloom Local earlier this year and helping craft an event display. And we are so thrilled with how it came out! 💕 This is a perfect example of 3 key factors that make this display successful and effective. 💡 ✅ CONSISTENCY. We created this design based off their branding guide and made sure to use brand colors and fonts. The result is an impactful and recognizable look! ✅ COHESION. Each piece of the display fits together like a puzzle so that the overall result isn’t repetitive and looks united as a whole. ✅ CTA. There are clear call to actions for viewers to continue engagement. A QR code for easy access to the Community Guide, website and social media info, and hand outs to keep Bloom Locql top of mind even after the event.
