About us
Founded at Harvard and MIT, Coolant is building forestry MRV that is as accurate as LiDAR at the price of hand measurement. We use only aerial drone footage to model reforestation sites with cutting edge computer vision techniques and calculate individual tree carbon stock. In recent studies with the Ocean Foundation, we've reached over 95% accuracy of LiDAR for their mangrove restoration sites.

They build hyper realistic 3D models of reforestation sites with simple drone footage and advanced computer vision models like Neural Radiance Fields. With these 3D models, Coolant derives tree level insights for foresters like carbon stock, biodiversity, wildfire risk, and tree health. Best of all, these models cost the same to build as hand measuring trees with a tape measure, which is the foundation of how every carbon credit is generated today. Coolant believes that this improved level of granularity and scalability in tree data is critical to unlocking trust and gigaton scale in nature based carbon markets.
