    At the #meltwatersummit yesterday i was graciously invited to talk on a panel about “remaining human: authenticity in ai era” with some excellent industry colleagues. My pov is that when we talk about authenticity what we really mean is “trust.”. We trust those we believe are “authentic” but authenticity must be earned through observation. Whether ai or human interaction trust is an outcome based on observing authentic behavior: performance, transparency, consistency, validation, impact - broadly, the same things that generate trust in humans also generate trust in ai models. Delineating human from algorithm will be increasingly difficult but what will be an overriding essential and consistent need (and perhaps most important) is having the sufficient observability to engender trust in either case - which without hyperbole will be one of the most central challenges for society over the coming years. For all of us building, using and deploying ai it truly is essential to enable this level of transparent observability to assure those impacted that we deserve their trust by “getting it right.” thanks to @markarduino and everyone from Meltwater and co panelists from Social Factor, dighuman, WE Communications and NICE. excellent event

    I don’t know about you, but we’ve been really unhappy with our sentiment accuracy recently…Okay it’s not the best dinner conversation starter.     Converseon CEO was at the AMEC Global Summit to present and discussion "Tackling Data Quality Issues in an AI World." Key themes from the presentation include. Data quality issues are absolutely essential when processing unstructured social and media data. The general standard accuracy of about 65% is simply not good enough for an era where gen AI is amplifying errors. There are new approaches to measure, validate, fine tune, govern and deploy. models easily that not only provide accuracy that is superior to individual humans, but also provides a full suite of "trusted AI" features that is needed to align with AI Act and emerging regulations. The results, include generating better trust and adoption in the data, reducing "hallucinations," and associated risks, and unlocking the value of this data to more advanced use cases like predictive analytics. He called for a Data Integrity Council - cross functional and organizational - to educate, advocate and motivate organizations to raise data standards for this massive and important data set.
