ConeTec completed a geotechnical site investigation for the new Highway 413 project, which includes the highway's new alignment and a bridge across the Humber River Valley, near Toronto, Ontario. We are proud to have collaborated with Thurber Engineering Ltd. on this important project for the Greater Toronto Area. Using a Sonic Drill, a Heli-Portable Sonic Drill, a 20-Ton Truck CPT, and Portable Geophysics, our team successfully completed this challenging job. Key benefits of our approach include: ☑ Downhole seismic testing using our rapid sonic technique for continuous Vs profiling ☑ High-quality sonic core to bedrock with good production rates ☑ Deep installations in fully-cased sonic holes ☑ Drilling with clean water, producing negligible cuttings ☑ Low ground pressure tracked equipment requiring no site prep and minimal site impact ☑ Dedicated CPT truck for efficient testing of the top 20 meters   For inquiries in Eastern Canada, please contact our Regional Manager, David Craig, P.Eng.   Did you know ConeTec has local sonic equipment available in Western U.S.? Additionally, our Heli-Sonic equipment will be going to California this fall. For inquiries in this region, please reach out to our Regional Managers, Shawn Steiner (Western-USA) and Clayton Bartholomew (California).

Hard to beat those Outback sunrises! Did you know we can install piezometers and SAA’s with our CPT Rigs? During a recent program in Northern Queensland in collaboration with Sixense Oceania, our teams installed VWPs fully integrated with a communications gateway, enabling real-time data display and reporting for the tailings storage facility through the Beyond Monitoring platform. Combined with the installations, we also performed: ☑ Resistivity-Seismic CPTs ☑ Variable rate electric vane shear testing ☑ Undisturbed sampling   All of this from a single Tracked CPT rig? You bet! Speak to our teams today for more information on how we can help with your full-service site investigation and monitoring needs. #ConeTec #Sixense #Oceania #SiteInvestigations #InstrumentationInstallations #Piezometers #CPT

It was a pleasure to connect with my #geotech peers and #contractors during yesterday's workshop with Farrell Design-Build Companies, Inc. I had the privilege of delivering a brief talk on the importance of site investigations, emphasizing the inverse relationship between the cost of site investigation and the potential for construction cost overruns. Often, site investigations represent a minor initial expense that supports a vast array of critical design and construction choices. Embrace #BetterInformation for making #BetterDecisions! Catch me in Berkeley on Thursday July 25th! Join us for the afternoon workshop and networking: email Joe Bendel at [email protected]

We are thrilled to share the news that All Service Drilling has a new brand identity. All Service Drilling joined the Geotech Group in 2021 and has been a valuable addition to our team. Since these years working within the group, we have recognized the benefit to align the All Service identity more closely with the Geotech brand. To help foster a greater sense of unity, the All Service logo has been redesigned to match with Geotech’s branding and visual identity aligning with the overall integration strategy of the Geotech Group into the ConeTec Group. The new logo is cohesive with Geotech’s logo, incorporating the original All Service brand colour pallet and integrating aspects to match with ConeTec and Geotech branding.

Great lunch and learn with a valued client! Thank you Thurber Engineering Ltd. Edmonton for hosting Damian Edwards, P.L.(Eng.), Jared Goudreau and I today. Funny enough, last night I was walking through YEG Airport with my overloaded shoulder bag thinking I need to get a backpack for travel days. Thank you Xiaobo Wang, I'll be repping Thurber on my future travels! If you would like to arrange a L&L for your team, drop me a message. We are always happy to bring lunch in and give an update on the fun stuff we've been up to at ConeTec, Geotech Drilling Group of Companies, Mud Bay Drilling and Lankelma Ltd!

Today July 17th, 2024, we celebrate James Greig's 30th anniversary at ConeTec!   Jim joined ConeTec in 1994, initially to work on software, but quickly found himself taking on field projects. This versatility proved invaluable, and led to reshaping data acquisition solutions, reporting processes and reference materials at ConeTec. Innovations that have become integral to ConeTec's field and data analysis operations today. Jim's commitment to mentorship has helped shape technical excellence at ConeTec, and his contributions have left an indelible mark on our team.   Jim’s advice to young engineers is to be humble but confident, don’t pass up opportunities, continue to learn, be open to constructive feedback and be professional in all that you do.   Thank you, Jim, for your incredible contributions and dedication over the past three decades.   #WorkAnniversary #ConeTec #30thAnniversary
