About us
CVIM is a community-based, volunteer nonprofit organization providing quality, coordinated medical and dental care to low income, working people in the Chester County region without insurance, enabling them to continue to be contributing members of the community. The program is designed to provide services for those individuals whose income is at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty guidelines and are not eligible for Medical Assistance, Medicare, VA benefits or the Children’s Health Insurance Program. CVIM welcomes clients without discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, handicap, or ability to pay for health care services.

We were thrilled to host Center for Integration and Migrant Support recently, and we are excited for all we can accomplish together.
For over twenty-six years, Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) has distinguished itself as a champion for providing access to affordable, high-quality healthcare and reducing costly emergency room visits and hospital admissions across Chester County. CVIM's innovative model, which blends volunteerism, grants, and donations, has been remarkable in delivering critical healthcare services to migrants, low-income families, and minority groups that are often overlooked. The Center for Integration and Migrant Support (CIMS) applauds CVIM for addressing the medical needs of our growing migrant population and for connecting them to other service providers in our region. We extend our gratitude to Maureen Tomoschuk, President and CEO of CVIM, along with her colleagues Greg Papa (Chief Operating Officer), Betsy Curtis (Director of Development), and Karuna Doraiswamy for our fruitful meeting on August 6, 2024. We greatly appreciate Julie Rusenko (Vice President of Development) for arranging this important meeting. Calling all runners, walkers, community members, and other fun folks! Community Volunteers in Medicine presents Dr. Mary's Legacy Run, a 5K run, walk, and family fun day. Information and registration: cvim.org/run The event will be September 7 at West Goshen Community Park in West Chester, PA, and will feature a Kids Zone with face painting by Birl Girl Designs. The 5K run will be on a separate route bordering the park. Creative costumes are encouraged! Prizes will be awarded to runners in several categories including best costume and best team costume. Proceeds will benefit the Dr. Mary Brennan Wirshup Endowment Fund at CVIM, honoring Dr. Mary’s legacy as a friend and advocate, and a skilled and compassionate physician.
