Community in the community! As part of our efforts to improve the health of Ocean County, Community Medical Center collaborates with local organizations to bring health education and hospital information directly to them. Some of these recent events have included presentations from Patrick Ahearn, Chief Executive Officer, Community Medical Center, and Kristine Field, Director, Community Outreach, about the hospital’s growth plans at SeaCrest Pines In Barnegat and Hampton Ridge in Toms River. Are you part of a local organization or community interested in having a Community Medical Center speaker at an upcoming event? Contact Kristine Field at [email protected]. #LetsBeHealthyTogether

About us
Community Medical Center (CMC) is a 592-bed, fully accredited acute care teaching hospital offering area residents high quality, highly sophisticated medical treatment close to home. Opened in 1961, CMC has evolved into Ocean County’s largest and most active health care facility. Community Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of services, including advanced cancer care, state-of-the art neurology and neurosurgery services with a neuro-interventional lab and a bi-plane, and cardiac care featuring four cardiac catheterization labs. Surgical services feature two da Vinci robotic surgical platforms including the latest generation da Vinci Xi, and the Mako robotic-arm assisted system for joint replacement surgery. CMC offers additional technology typically not found at a community hospital, including a 3-Tesla MRI, digital mammography, the Rapid Arc linear accelerator, a CyberKnife for treating inoperable tumors and the Veran Lung Navigation System. We are one of the area’s most trusted providers of maternal and children’s services, offering superior obstetric care, a Level II special care nursery with 24/7 onsite neonatologists for newborns requiring special care, a midwifery program, a dedicated pediatric unit, and a pediatrician in the emergency department. The emergency department is one of the largest providers of emergency care in New Jersey, with highly skilled emergency medicine physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Specialized care is also offered through the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, the Center for Bariatrics, and the Women’s Imaging Center.

Community Medical Center (CMC) was proud to participate in the Toms River PBA Local 137's 34th Annual Vest-A-Cop event on September 30 in Downtown Toms River. Proceeds from the event equip officers with ballistic vests. Local residents and organizations participate to show their support, including CMC. CMC's cardiac and neurology team members shared hospital information at their table at the event. They were accompanied by members of the NJ Sharing Network, who provided information on registering as an organ donor in NJ. Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Yesterday, Community Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer Patrick Ahearn had an opportunity to address the Ocean County Commissioners Meeting and provide an update on Community Medical Center to the commissioner. He discussed the significant changes happening at CMC, from building a helipad to decrease patient transfer times to establishing a Graduate Medical Education program that graduated its first group of residents this year, CMC has made significant investments into the hospital, its programs, and its team to serve the greater Ocean County Community better. We thank Commissioner Frank Sadeghi for inviting us to participate in the meeting and look forward to sharing more updates in the future! #LetsBeHealthyTogether
