Our thoughts are with those across the southeastern U.S. impacted by #HurricaneHelene and catastrophic flooding from the Category 4 storm. In the face of adversity, we’re proud of our hospital teams and first responders, especially in hard hit areas across Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. As they always do, our teams are stepping up to support their communities and treating patients in need of medical care. As recovery efforts begin, we want to remind employees at CHS health systems that the CHS CARES Fund 501(c)(3) is available for employees experiencing hardship and in need of financial assistance. Employees impacted by #Helene are encouraged to contact their HR representatives. And, anyone can donate to the fund at CFMT.org/CHS

Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Arizona knows what it takes to save lives. The hospital partnered with local firefighters and emergency medical teams to provide hands-only CPR training to 700 eighth graders. Across the U.S., more than 356,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals every year with nearly 90 percent of these events resulting in death. Immediate CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. While it’s a skill we hope they never have to use, these students now have the training and confidence to act in an emergency and help save lives. #minutescount #learncpr #savealife

Safety first, safety always. As one of the first organizations to establish an AHRQ-certified Patient Safety Organization (PSO), we're committed to achieving zero events of preventable harm. By establishing processes that minimize accidents, reinforcing error prevention behaviors, and identifying the root cause behind every serious safety event, we've achieved a 90% reduction in our Serious Safety Event Rate since 2013 and we've built a culture where patient safety really is the most important thing. #WorldPatientSafetyDay | #GetItRight | #MakeItSafe

Here we grow again in our Tucson market. Today's announcement of the planned acquisition of 10 Carbon Health urgent care centers in Arizona will expand Northwest Healthcare's footprint to more than 80 sites of care when the transaction is completed later this year. Over the past five years, strategic investments of approximately $200 million across the Greater Tucson Metro community have expanded services and locations, making healthcare more accessible for local residents. Recent growth projects have included two new hospitals - Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita and Northwest Medical Center Houghton. Thanks to everyone at Northwest Healthcare for your commitment to quality healthcare and the people in your community!

We're making a difference, one swing at a time! The sun is shining down on the sixth annual CHS Charity Golf Tournament today. More than 120 players teed up to help raise funds for charitable organizations in Middle Tennessee. Proceeds from the event will support AbleVoices, GraceWorks Ministries, Safe Haven Family Shelter, Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury and the CHS CARES Fund. Helping others is #parforthecourse at CHS, so we are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our players, sponsors and the volunteers who made today's tournament a great success.

Today, we honor the workers. The people who built our country and who keep our businesses going strong. We especially thank the people who work in our health systems for making sure quality healthcare services are available 24/7 in communities across the country. To everyone who is showing up for a shift on this holiday, while so many others take a break from their work routines, we see you and we appreciate you! Happy #LaborDay!

It's #NationalDogDay - so we want you to meet the newest member of the Northeast Regional Medical Center team—Luna. The 2-year-old Blue Merle Border Collie is known to roam the halls of Northeast Regional, turning 'ruff' days into 'pawsitive' patient experiences. Many CHS hospitals offer pet therapy to help reduce stress and anxiety for patients. (And our team members love to see these furry friends making the rounds, too.) So, today, here's to belly rubs and wagging tails and all of the little things in life that make us feel better.
