Open Door Fund grantee Firehouse Art Center is a hub for art in Longmont, Colorado. The art center, located in a historic firehouse, hosts exhibits, classes, and other programs for artists and art enthusiasts in the Longmont area. One of Firehouse Art Center's popular programs is Slay the Runway. The program fosters creative expression and support for LGBTQIA+ middle and high school youth, providing students with a community of support, the opportunity to learn new skills, and a celebratory space where they can showcase their creativity. The multi-week program culminates in a runway performance where youth get to show off their work to friends, family, and community. 15 Forever was established at Community Foundation Boulder County in 2006 to promote civic engagement and leadership among Boulder County youth. Each year, a new group of high school students from across the county convenes to identify the most pressing needs of Boulder County's youth, raise funds to support those needs, and make grants to youth-focused organizations. In 2024, the 15 Forever cohort focused their efforts on supporting youth mental health in Boulder County. The group raised a record breaking $41,000 for the program to support organizations focused on youth mental health. After a thorough grant review process, the cohort selected six well-deserving grantees including the Al-Naas Civic and Cultural Foundation, Colie's Closet, Creativity Alive, Impact on Education, Medicine Horse, and restART. Congratulations to our grantees, thank you to our donors, and a big round of applause to our cohort for all your hard work! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next. https://lnkd.in/gufxHhdy

Many thanks to the University of Colorado Boulder and the 10 downtown businesses who participated in the CU Shadow Day yesterday. We appreciate our partnership with CU and are proud of the businesses who shared their professional expertise with the student athletes. Business leaders met with student athletes from the football team to share information about their professions during lunch and office tours. The student athletes came prepared with questions based on their interests and career objectives. It was a great event for career exploration!
