Victor came to Morgantown Healthcare Center in early July after being treated in the hospital for a left leg fracture. In hopes of being able to go home before his birthday, Victor worked hard and participated in all of his physical, occupational, and speech therapy activities. Victor’s determination to succeed and positive attitude contributed greatly to his success. When asked about his time in therapy, he said, “This place really pushed my boundaries and my physical therapist, Chris, had a direct impact on my full recovery!”

Congratulations to Rory Kennedy, the recent recipient of the Clinical Instructor Champion award. Rory, a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at the Baldwin Health Center, gives his all to the student program, hosting advanced students as well as supporting SLP’s in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

More congratulations are extended to Kristi Beeghly for her recent recognition as Clinical Mentor Champion! Kristi serves as a physical therapist assistant and therapy manager at Kingwood Healthcare Center. She enjoys sharing her passion for the profession and providing guidance to fellow clinicians who are new to the field. Way to go, Kristi! We appreciate you!

Congratulations to Amy Huffman, therapy manager and physical therapist at Madeira Healthcare Center! She was recognized as both a Clinical Mentor Champion and a Clinical Instructor Champion due to her dedication to mentoring clinicians joining the CommuniCare team and demonstrating exceptional #TrueBlue values. Amy is a leader in our student program and hosts numerous students in rotations throughout the year. We could not be more grateful to have her leading our team and profession to success!

Lauren has been an SLP for eight years and started her career in a clinical fellowship year at Marley Neck Healthcare Center. Marty Evans admitted to Allen View Healthcare Center in March of this year. After four months of dedicated therapy, he significantly improved his strength and mobility, and ultimately achieved his goal of retuning home. We are proud to share Georgina’s success story. Following an acute hospital stay for weakness, Georgina admitted to Great Lakes Healthcare Center to help regain her strength and improve her ability to complete daily self-care activities. She worked very hard in physical and occupational therapies and made significant progress. At the time of her discharge, Georgina was walking 175 feet with a rolling walker and performing all activities for daily living! She is now back to assisted living and doing very well. Congratulations, Georgina! 💙
