About us
Since our beginning in 1971, CommonBond has flourished into one of the Upper Midwest’s premier providers of affordable housing with services. By integrating services and housing, we were the first to offer more than just a quality place to live. Our model has always been about supporting people in achieving their goals. Today we provide homes and services for more than 12,000 people every year. We develop, own, or manage more than 6,000 affordable rental apartments and townhomes throughout 58 cities in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. On September 19, St. Paul PHA Executive Director Louise Seeba, Housing Choice Voucher Programs Director Corina Serrano and Communications Manager/Executive Assistant Mai Moua participated in the Grand Opening of “The Lumin”, a new apartment building at St. Paul’s Highland Bridge. The Lumin serves senior families and is CommonBond’s first affordable housing development in Highland Bridge, on the site of the former Ford assembly plant. Louise gave remarks at the grand opening, highlighting the St. Paul PHA’s partnership with The Lumin. The St. Paul PHA awarded 60 Project-Based Vouchers (PBVs) to The Lumin to ensure deep affordability of the entire project. PBV support “enables households at 30% of area median income to afford rent and allows property owners to support ongoing operating expenses,” furthering the Agency’s mission. CommonBond Communities

Shout out to staff at Skyline Tower - a CommonBond community in St. Paul - for partnering with Kitchen Coalition in support of residents!
"I work at a tower that hosts 1200 residents. We came along during the summer of 2021 and we partnered first with Sanneh, so we were doing produce boxes and hot meals. We haven't missed a week since. There's a lot of families: refugees, elders, seniors, and a lot of youth." - Demetrius, CommonBond Communities

#NationalHispanicHeritageMonth began as a weeklong celebration under President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968 and was expanded into a monthlong celebration by President Ronald Regan in 1988. September 15th is a significant day, as it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
