14 years ago, Carlos became the first employee of Common Pantry, aside from an executive director, but has been a vital member of our community for much longer. Carlos is our Operations Specialist who ensures the pantry is well stocked and ready to go before every distribution and always prioritizes our guests and their well being. Beyond that, he is a cheeseburger lover, jokester, die-hard cubs fan (you always see him in cubbie blue) who is the heart of the Common Pantry community. He is cared for by so many (a fraction help create a fun photo) and we don't know what we would do without him. Congratulations Carlos! #happyanniversary #congratulations #hungerwarrior #nonprofit

And that's a wrap! Our Common Kids were able to create and distribute all 390 school supply kits to our families and their kiddos. With all prices still being high from lingering inflation, we are glad that we could help our guests get back to school ready. Thank you to Betsy's Blankets who helped make our second week distributing school supplies extra special and big thanks to the The Reva & David Logan Foundation for not only providing all the school supplies but also volunteering to help give them out. #impact #partnerships #volunteer #nonprofit

Last week our Common Kids were hard at work and gave out school supply kits to over 250 kids! But they're not done yet. They will continue to give out school supplies today and tomorrow to make sure all our families are back to school ready. Last Thursday we had the pleasure to host U.S. Senator Dick Durbin for a visit to learn more about our mission and the food access work we do in the community. Today marks one year for Shea Leibow joining the Common Pantry team as our Community and Operations Coordinator.
