About us
The Colorado Smart Cities Alliance is a statewide, multi-jurisdictional collaboration of public, private and academic sector leaders committed to accelerating the adoption of smart cities technologies, projects and initiatives in their respective communities. Its membership includes: ~ A dozen Colorado cities that together represent more than 70% of the state’s population. ~ Arrow Electronics, the largest company by revenue in Colorado a unique global aggregator of more than 800 technology company partners and more than 125,000 electronics component manufacturers. ~ The University of Colorado, the largest public research institution in the state, the Alliance’s lead academic partner. ~ The Innovation Corridor, a research and commercialization partnership between Formativ, the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). ~ The Colorado Technology Association, a connector that brings together public organizations, academic institutions and private enterprise to advance the tech ecosystem across the state ensure Colorado leads the way in smart city innovation. Together, we collaborate to benefit our respective citizens and businesses across Colorado by enhancing quality of life through citizen-centered design and public policy and through the deployment of 21st century technology and infrastructure.

🎉 Exciting Leadership Update 🎉 I'm thrilled to announce that David Worley, President and CEO of Denver South, has joined the Alliance's Board of Directors! David brings a wealth of experience from his diverse background in higher education and civil engineering. Since becoming President/CEO at Denver South earlier this year, and previously serving as Senior Vice President, he has been instrumental in driving innovation and growth in the region. His leadership journey also includes his impactful work as the Executive Director of Executive Education at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business, where he addressed critical learning and development needs across various sectors. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering, an M.A. in Transformational Leadership, and a PhD focused on monetary economics, cultural studies, and leadership, David's expertise is both broad and deep. His unique perspective on organizational development and complex environments will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset to our board. Please join me in welcoming David Worley to our Board of Directors! Tech Spotlight ⚡ Meet the founder and co-founder of Tiami Networks, an accelerator program member of our lab. Tiami's technology improves public safety and security in #urban and rural areas by enabling non-intrusive surveillance that respects privacy concerns. Dr. Amitav Mukherjee, CEO of Tiami Networks, LLC, has 14 years of experience in wireless communications systems design and earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Irvine in 2012. Prior to founding Tiami Networks, Dr. Mukherjee was Director of Wireless R&D at Charter Communications, leading performance modeling and PHY layer R&D. His career includes significant roles at Verizon, Ericsson, and Hitachi, notably as the radio architect for Verizon’s private LTE/5G network and leading the design of the first 4G cellular systems operating in unlicensed spectrum at Ericsson. He holds over 122 US patents and received the 2022 Distinguished Alumnus Award from UC Irvine for his contributions to 5G standards. Mukherjee has authored a book on Rel-16 5G and published 72 journal and conference papers with over 4,400 citations. Tyrell J., Co-Founder of Tiami Networks, brings 12 years of international business experience across Africa, Japan, the USA, and Europe. His career includes working with governments, Fortune 500 companies, and NGOs. A returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Zambia, Tyrell is also a director-at-large with the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area. He holds an MBA from Globis University in Tokyo, specializing in social-impact design and finance, and previously served as associate director at the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center, focusing on US-Africa policy analysis and research.
