Are you a Latina dementia caregiver, or do you know one? Researchers at Northeastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois Chicago want to assess a 10-week virtual educational health program aimed at Latina dementia caregivers in the Chicagoland area to develop health and wellness knowledge and skills. Online educational materials and community resources will be provided along with an opportunity to earn $150 in e-cards for participating in this research. New research shows that experiencing racial and economic injustices can make people age faster biologically. This means those exposed to these issues, especially early in life, are at a higher risk of dying younger. Direct care workers who support older adults and people with disabilities may qualify for bonuses of up to $1,000 from the state of #Minnesota through a program aimed at addressing the state’s workforce shortage. Last week, the Minnesota Department of Human Services announced that the Minnesota Care Force Initiative will disburse $84 million to eligible direct care workers, including personal care assistants and nursing home workers, via their employers in early 2025.
