September is #SuicidePreventionAwarenessMonth. Suicide Prevention is a top priority for CVN. The transition from military service can be filled with opportunity, but veterans can also face significant challenges that can create a perfect storm resulting in elevated suicide risk. That's why this month we've launched "Mind the Gap: Preventing Suicide After Service," a public awareness campaign that highlights the challenges veterans face during their transition from the military and provides strategies and resources for suicide prevention. Clinic Director of our Cohen Clinic in San Diego, Kelly Williams, participated as the mental health expert during a panel discussion about the film "Final Fight: When the Trauma of War Comes Home" at the GI Film Festival San Diego. The film explores the impact of #PTSD and military sexual assault on our military members, and the tragic rates of veteran suicide. At Cohen Veterans Network, we understand that war comes home, and that's exactly why we are here: to save veterans' lives, families, and futures.

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) Commander Col. Sam Preston recently met with the team at our Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone in Clarksville, TN. As a psychiatrist, Col. Preston has a deep interest in the behavioral health needs of military service members, retirees, and their families and thanked the Cohen team for their care: “It takes a lot of helping hands to take care of the Fort Campbell mission. We are grateful you are here and serving our community.” Julie Adams, Meghan Williams 📸 : Justin Moeller https://bit.ly/4fWyrmk

Oklahoma Senator James Lankford recently visited our Cohen Clinic in Lawton, #Oklahoma and praised the exceptional dedication our community shows towards veterans and their families! “We’re here to serve veterans, active service members and their families, so having the Senator come visit is just a way for us to share with him that we’re here and we want to be of service. We’re so thankful that he’s willing to come and visit us and share about us and share what we do, so that those who are in need of our services can know where we are.” - Larken Wofford, Clinic Director of Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Red Rock Our Cohen Clinic at Red Rock as locations in Lawton and Oklahoma City, and is part of our nationwide network of mental health clinics serving veteran and military families across 20 states.
