With the use of accident reconstruction, the attorneys were able to maximize the settlement amount by proving that it was not only the driver that ran the red light but also the driver that was speeding through the yellow light that caused the collision. Through the use of expert witnesses, evidence was introduced as to the cost of medical and prosthetic care for the rest of the client's life. This settlement will allow the young woman to obtain the prosthetics for a more functional and active life.

Cogan & Power's Partner, Miguel Ruiz visited students at National Louis University to speak about his journey through college and law school. Through his incredibly moving story, students walked away with one thing on their minds: inspiration. Almost all of the audience was comprised of first-generation students who had never heard of a Latino -- let alone an immigrant -- completing higher education and having a successful career because of it.
