This morning, #CODX announced it is the recipient of a grant award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for its tuberculosis test planned for the company's Co-Dx PCR platform. This is the third grant award from the Gates Foundation this year, following two earlier awards to support the development of the tuberculosis test as well as a test for human papillomavirus (HPV). The new Co-Dx platform technology is expected to play a role in the decentralization of #diagnostics, allowing more patients to benefit from real-time PCR diagnostics, including those in areas of the world where infrastructure has been a barrier to access. #POCT #pcrtesting #stopTB The Co-Dx PCR platform and its associated products are subject to FDA review and are not available for sale. https://lnkd.in/dYBZQHCT

The CDC has reported nearly 200 cases of #dengue virus in New York and New Jersey. Experts have sounded the warning that climate change is expanding the geographic range of disease-carrying mosquitoes and the effects are being seen in many areas of the U.S., with this being the latest example. Onsite, real-time #PCR mosquito testing is a key to managing these expanding vectors, and Co-Diagnostics is playing an important role in helping to safeguard the public health. https://lnkd.in/egDkStvg #vectorcontrol

A new report from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control highlights why #CODX PCR-based vector control technology is so important: “Europe is already seeing how climate change is creating more favourable conditions for invasive mosquitos to spread into previously unaffected areas and infect more people with diseases such as dengue...Personal protective measures combined with vector control measures, early detection of cases, timely surveillance, further research and awareness-raising activities are paramount in those areas in Europe most at risk.” As climate change exacerbates challenges, Co-Diagnostics' vector control solutions are even more important, enabling real-time, on-site surveillance of mosquito populations. https://lnkd.in/dY8Y9C5e #MosquitoWeek #PCR #VectorControl

The latest article describing how climate change is "expanding the reach" of insect-borne disease details Las Vegas' exploding mosquito population and calls it a "case study of what's to come." #CODX has developed a vector control PCR platform equipment that makes it possible for onsite, real-time interrogation of mosquito samples, dramatically reducing turnaround times so that abatement districts can act quickly. #mosquitos #mosquitoabatement https://lnkd.in/dNASFJ3H
