Did you know that Coded by: collaborates with partners across the city to host our classes and workshops? We recently concluded an incredible Cb:Discover series, bringing our CodeLab workshops to the young minds at Kennedy C. Crossan Elementary! Over the course of six days, 150 students from 3rd to 5th grade immersed themselves in the world of coding, crafting their very own games. 💻 At Coded by:, our mission is to boost representation in tech and startup leadership by equipping underrepresented students with the skills, support, and resources they need to excel. This past week we kicked off the fourth annual Innovation League! During the first week, our young entrepreneurs got an overview of the program, a basic foundation of what innovation and startups are, started brainstorming problems, and learned about the validation process. Tackling the problem of making healthy eating easy and accessible for their busy users, last year’s Innovation League first place winners Margareth, Leonard, and Jack created Fuze. The app uses AI to help those with different preferences, health goals, and restrictions create personalized recipe matches for their needs. Seeing students struggle with time management and busy schedules, sisters and 2023 Innovation League second place winners Ayan and Hanane created Brain Wave to help them balance school, their social lives, and what they are passionate about. This student oriented app allows the user to practice mindfulness along with assignment tracking in order to stay calm and organized.
