  • Join the Outreach Committee of the Chicago Chapter of the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law to enjoy a rooftop happy hour/brief networking followed by a private movie screening of the award-winning film, “Las Abogadas: Attorneys on the Front Lines of the Migrant Crisis,” on the rooftop of the Rooftop Cinema Club in the West loop. “Las Abogadas” follows the journey of brave female attorneys who, after learning of attorneys who drove a VW bus to intercept 5,000 migrants in central Mexico to offer legal advice in 2018, traveled to and provided legal aid to thousands of migrants and refugees. The film closely follows the protagonists of the film in their legal practice throughout the refugee crises, sharing inspiring stories and footage as they and their clients react to and navigate increasingly hostile laws and policies. • When we ask, we aim low. We ask for what we think we can reasonably get because we’re afraid to risk demanding too much and end up with nothing at all. The result? We leave money and opportunity on the table. Combining 20 years of communications expertise and a passion for auctioneering—Dia Bondi’s Ask Like an Auctioneer is a bold and radical approach to helping you ask for more and get it.
