Earlier this week, I sat down with General Motors Chair and CEO Mary Barra and former IBM Chair and CEO Ginni Rometty for the launch of our @CNBC book club, known as "Leaders' Library." We tasked Barra with selecting any book -- fiction, non-fiction, anything -- and then we'd invite the author to speak about it at an event with our #CNBCCouncils members, comprising top executives across Corporate America. She chose Rometty's book, "Good Power," which is part memoir, part leadership advice, part call to action. The conversation spanned themes of how one's own history shapes their leadership, how to pivot an older organization through technological change, and the importance of supporting women in the workforce. One of my favorite takeaways was in response to an audience question about the one thing Barra and Rometty thought being a leader meant 20 years ago that they'd change at this stage of their career. Workers are opting for subtle vacationing while appearing to work remotely instead of using one of their numbered days with paid time off. Although millennials are typically thought of as the quiet vacationers, the new trend is prevalent across all ages of the workforce. #CNBCWEC
