Great experience working with Shawn Schroeder and Nicholas Thrush at Great Oaks Country Club in Rochester, Michigan. Delved into the Club's Capital Planning process using Club Benchmarking's #COMPASS. Founded in 1971 on a former Black Angus Farm, the club has evolved marvelously, featuring the new "Oaks on 18" Bar as the social hub for members. Another iconic visit to an iconic Club! Grateful to Joe Furko, the new General Manager/COO at Scioto Country Club, and the outstanding Scioto team for hosting myself and Brent Hildreth, Director of Capital Asset Management at Club Benchmarking. This historic club, with a classic Donald Ross designed course, has hosted prestigious tournaments like the Ryder Cup and U.S Opens, and is home to Golf legend Jack Nicklaus. I was impressed to see an old photo of Jack Nicklaus and his parents depicting the creation of what I believe is the first indoor hitting bay in his Columbus, Ohio home's basement? (Circa 1955ish??) From stunning patios to the Donald Ross Bar and a winter lap pool bubble for year-round swimming, Scioto Country Club continues to impress. Our recent visit kickstarted the creation of their Capital Asset schedule, providing essential data for long-term planning to the membership, Board, and Management. #Clubbenchmarking #COMPASS
