I recently had the opportunity to drive to Findlay, Ohio for a refreshing change of scenery (not in an airport). I visited Findlay Country Club to kick off their #COMPASS journey. A special thanks to Gail Steffen, GM/COO, and Christine McDaniel, Controller, for their warm hospitality and a delightful dinner in downtown Findlay. Findlay Country Club truly epitomizes the essence of Findlay, Ohio. Situated at the heart of the city, the club's iconic logo features one of two bridges that elegantly span the Blanchard River. Designed by Thomas Bendelow in 1928, the layout seamlessly weaves through the picturesque river's edge, showcasing the club's rich history and natural beauty. Club Benchmarking and #COMPASS, together with the Club's members and dedicated team, are committed to honoring the legacy and traditions while looking ahead to ensure happiness for the next generation.

Last week marked my inaugural visit to the Space Coast of Florida alongside my colleague Andrea Drake, PGA. The experience was notably marked by the high humidity levels. I’d like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Robert A. Stone, Jr., CCM, CCE, LCAM, COO, and the entire team at Suntree Country Club, Inc. for their warm welcome and for imparting their valuable insights. Nestled in Melbourne, Florida, a stone’s throw from Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral, Suntree Country Club boasts an array of amenities for its members. The club features 36 holes of championship golf, an aquatics center, and a newly constructed clubhouse. With 2 hard and 6 har-tru tennis courts and currently under construction pickleball complex with 5 courts, the club is a hub of activity and development. Our visit last week was instrumental in assessing the club’s facilities, which will produce the annual capital needs report—a foundational aspect of the #COMPASS initiative. With the addition of a second clubhouse, strategic capital planning has become paramount. In collaboration with Club Benchmarking, we’re paving the way for the next half-century to be as enriching and enjoyable as the club’s first.

North Hills Country Club, tucked away in Manhasset, NY just off the Long Island Expressway was established in 1927. The club offers a range of amenities including a golf course, 6 lane bowling alley, racquet sports, and aquatics facility. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1962 the course with its steep grades requires "the Spider", a remote controlled mower to cut the awesome natural topography of this beautiful course. The club recently introduced new features like a poolside bar, Pickleball, and basketball courts to enhance the member experience. Under the leadership of General Manager John Veneziano, the team at North Hills is committed to elevating the member experience. By leveraging Club Benchmarking's #COMPASS, the club's management now has access to valuable data analysis tools to make informed decisions for the club's future.
