Want to use your power as an employee to move your company forward on climate policy? We can help! Introducing the launch of our brand new toolkit – Climate Action at Work: A Guide for Employee Advocates. 💥 Our toolkit outlines key steps like researching your company’s positions on climate policy, ways to engage your co-workers, which questions to ask regarding trade association memberships and climate policy advocacy underway, and how to start advocating for action. You’ll learn how to leverage your influence for climate, and how to become a super-connector on the issue. Most important of all, this was developed by employees, based on their real-world experiences of advocating for climate in their workplaces. We invite you to share this with your fellow employees and get started in advocating for stronger climate policy action today. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gXM6YqBu

Mobilizing the voice of the workforce to urge companies to go “all in” on climate change
About us
Our mission is to mobilize the voice of the workforce to urge companies to go “all in” on climate, both in business practices and policy advocacy. Unleashing the muscle of the corporate sector will be a climate game changer, tipping the balance on policy battles that are now stacked in favor of polluting industries. Achieving ambitious carbon reduction goals (50% by 2030 and zero by 2050) will take broad and sweeping action. These goals require urgent public policy changes at the local, state and federal levels. A mobilized workforce will make sure that companies step up and advocate.

#resource alert. We're excited to share another installment of ClimateVoice, an interview series where Bill Weihl (former Green Energy Czar at Google and Director of Sustainability at Facebook) speaks with business leaders who are putting sustainability at the forefront of their work. In this issue, Bill interviews Nathaniel Stinnett, founder of the Environmental Voter Project, a nonpartisan nonprofit, with the mission to build environmental political power. Nathaniel has a decade of experience as a senior advisor, consultant, and trainer for political campaigns and issue-advocacy nonprofits. Since 2015, EVP has contacted 10.5 million unique environmental voters and helped convert almost 1.8 million of them into “super-voters.” With the election coming up, this is an important and interesting interview to read. 🚨 BREAKING: The U.S. Supreme Court declined to block EPA's Methane Rule! Good news! Today #SCOTUS rejected the requests filed by big polluters and fossil fuel industry groups who have been pleading the court to halt implementation of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Section 111 Methane Rule, and block new limits on methane emissions from new and existing oil and gas infrastructure while legal challenges play out. This decision allows the standards to currently remain in effect and is a win for local communities across the country who collaborated with leaders to design these safeguards for our climate and public health. #GoodNewsFriday #CutMethane

A huge thank you to Michelle Benavides of International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) for joining us for this week's ClimateVoices interview. "Greenwashing undermines authentic progress. As sustainability professionals, we have a responsibility to watch for this activity in our own organizations and sectors. There is enormous pressure to produce results quickly, but true change takes time. To truly implement and influence change, sustainability professionals must learn how to embed sustainability into the fabric of their company instead of layering it on top. This is no easy task – it requires skillful stakeholder engagement and a deep knowledge of reporting standards for transparency." -- We couldn't agree more!
