🎃 TRICK or TREES 🌳 City of Greenville Parks and Recreation gave away 200 trees at neighborhood Halloween events. The FREE trees are the first of many targeted giveaways to help our community replant after Helene. The City is unable to work on private property, so our best approach is to TREAT our residents.

Breaking ground. Breaking barriers. Brooks Foster and her dad Paul drove a mini excavator during the ceremonial groundbreaking #GreenvilleSC's first fully inclusive playground. Brooks' Playground, located inside Cleveland Park on Lakehurst Drive, will include play elements designed for children of all abilities ages six months to 13+ years. The Foster family made a generous donation, and worked with the City of Greenville Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department to create a place of belonging. Brooks' siblings, friends from The Meyer Center for Special Children, advocates, supporters and City leaders joined the celebration. In addition to a playground, the project will include enhanced handicapped parking, pathways for wheelchairs and additional restrooms.

Preparation. Response. Recovery. On this #NationalFirstRespondersDay, our City Manager updated City Council members on the progress we've made in the four weeks since Hurricane Helene. The report details the extraordinary efforts of our Greenville City Fire Department, Greenville Police Department, Public Works, Engineering, City of Greenville Parks and Recreation, Building and Codes, Greenville Transit Authority, Greenville City Economic Development Corporation and more whose employees worked long hours to help our City rebound. We've linked the report here: https://lnkd.in/dK4yzvEA We're also looking for YOUR feedback. The Communications team that creates content for City channels is curious how we did. Take this short survey to help us better understand the types of posts you'd like to see in an emergency. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dcpBgtKW

"I'm proud that MY CITY is stepping up to help the community." Hundreds of volunteers gathered at Cleveland Park, Gower, McPherson, in neighborhood parks and along the Sliding Rock Creek Trail for "Baby HOG Day." The partnership between City of Greenville Parks and Recreation and United Way of Greenville County brought a "special edition" of the annual Hands on Greenville Day to assist with storm debris cleanup. 💚 EVERY volunteer spot needed was FILLED. Thank you #GreenvilleSC
