We thank our residents for your patience and cooperation through this event. * * REMINDER...all City beaches, parks and golf courses remain closed today, Thurs 10/10. * * City offices and facilities will resume normal operating hours tomorrow, Friday 10/11. Please remember for sanitation customers serviced by the City, Thursday and Friday services have a schedule change due to the storm. *There is NO sanitation service on Thursday, October 10. *Thursday (10/10) service will be a day LATER on Friday (10/11). *Friday (10/11) service will be a day LATER on Saturday (10/12).

Please keep in mind that for our area, the estimated time for peak winds is between 8PM tonight (Wednesday) and 4PM on Thursday. There has been quite a bit of tornado activity in South Florida today. The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, has announced the appointments to its 2024-2025 Legislative Policy Committees. Congratulations to: 👏 Deputy Mayor Yvette Drucker, who will serve on the Intergovernmental Relations, Mobility, and Emergency Management Committee 👏 Council Member Fran Nachlas, who will join the Development, Code Compliance, and Redevelopment Committee 👏 City Manager George Brown, who will serve the Municipal Operations Committee representing three of the League’s five Legislative Policy Committees As members of these committees, Drucker, Nachlas, and Brown will help develop the League’s Legislative Platform, which outlines priority issues that are likely to impact municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session. They will also assist League staff in understanding the real-world implications of proposed legislation and serve as advocates for local decision-making throughout the legislative process.
