Employee Spotlight At the July 16th City Council Meeting, we had the pleasure of recognizing the incredible achievements of four of our dedicated city employees! Vickie, our Recreation Services Manager, graduated from the Leadership Northeast School. Her commitment to leadership and community service is truly inspiring! The Police Department celebrated three well-deserved promotions: Corporal Gonzalez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Officer Kaddatz and Officer Rodriguez were promoted to the rank of Corporal We are so proud of these individuals and grateful for their hard work and dedication to making our city a better place. Congratulations to all!

2024 Saginaw Mayor's Youth Advisory Council The 2024 Saginaw Mayor's Youth Advisory Council kicked off over the weekend at City Hall! Mayor Todd Flippo and Councilmember Mary Copeland were on hand to welcome and participate in the program with the new class. Students introduced themselves, met a few staff members, learned a little Saginaw history, and toured both the library and recreation center. The City of Saginaw Mayor Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is a five-month program open to local high school juniors and seniors with the desire to explore the field of public service and local government. MYAC members receive an inside look on how Saginaw’s various departments serve the community each day through facility tours and personal interactions, including City Council.

Exciting News from Saginaw! We are thrilled to announce that the new Saginaw Fire Station has been honored with the Career 1 Gold Award in the 2023 Firehouse Station Design Awards! Our state-of-the-art facility has been recognized among outstanding fire and emergency service facilities at the 10th Annual Station Design Awards. This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and innovation of our fire department administration and the architects behind this cutting-edge station. We are immensely proud of this recognition, and it's a testament to the excellence that defines our Saginaw Fire Department.
