Last week, Mayor Hank Kuspa accepted the resignation of Tim Kristin, who has served as city administrator for four years. As city administrator, Kristin has been instrumental in shepherding several economic development projects, including One Fifty-Seven Oak Forest, Culver’s Restaurant, Aldi Food Market, and Captain Jack’s Beverages. In addition, Kristin has spurred the demolition of several vacant properties to prepare for sale, including Ace Hardware, Numero Uno, and Citgo. Most recently, Kristin announced the city would no longer charge daily fees at its commuter parking lots as another strategy to support economic development opportunities. Kristin also implemented an automated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) system, crafted policies and procedures to provide a roadmap for day-to-day operations, and successfully negotiated several union contracts and insurance premiums. In order to facilitate a smooth transition and ensure continuity of services to residents and staff, Kristin will remain as city administrator until the position is filled or May 1, 2025, whichever comes first. Kristin expressed his appreciation to Mayor Kuspa and the City Council for giving him the opportunity to serve his hometown. “It has been an honor to serve you and the people of Oak Forest,” he said in his resignation letter. “I am forever grateful to our employees, who work hard every day to offer the best possible service to our residents, local business owners, and visitors.” https://lnkd.in/gXP-A42B

SOMETHING FRESH IS BREWING in Oak Forest! It's the ground-up development of a combination Dunkin' & Baskin Robbins quick-service restaurant at the southwest corner of 159th Street and Cicero Avenue. The 2,581-square-foot, new-generation restaurant will feature a drive-thru, inside dining space and a patio area for outside dining. The drive-thru will allow for approximately 20 vehicles with access points available on 159th Street and Cicero Avenue. Once at the building, the double drive-thru traffic will go clockwise before exiting onto Cicero Avenue. The site plan also includes a monument sign, decorative lighting and fencing, and landscaping. #oakforest #illinois #allgoodthingsclosetohome #development #groundup #newconstruction #dunkin #baskinrobbins #communitydevelopment #community #economicdevelopment #ciceroavenue #revitalizingCicero #revitalization #restaurant #quickserve #donuts #coffee #icecream
