  • Jamie Allen and Lizzy Grogan, roommates at the Pickwick Drive residence in Syosset, went for a day trip in the Big Apple 🍎 Joined by Manager Pamela Iliou, Jamie and Lizzy took pictures with all their favorite celebrities at Madame Tussauds wax museum! Afterward, they enjoyed a delicious lunch at the busy Applebee's on 42nd Street in Manhattan! It was a day filled with excitement and discovery as Jamie, Lizzy, and Pamela learned about movie stars, athletes, musicians, and historical figures at Madame Tussauds. They also got to see some of the iconic sights of New York City. It was truly a day to remember! Thank you, Pamela, for organizing such a fun trip!

  • Great news! With the generosity and dedication of our supporters, we have already raised $19,602 of our $50,000 goal as part of our "Celebrating 50 Years of Camp Loyaltown" fundraiser. Money raised will be put towards a new water well at camp, which will provide an additional water source needed to keep campers and staff happy and healthy during the hot summer months. Every dollar donated will be matched by the Gamell family, who have pledged to match up to $25,000 in donations. You can help us reach our goal! • Helen Kaplan Center makes us proud! Recently, the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) conducted a survey at the Helen Kaplan Center (HKP) in Plainview, and they complimented each house for having a fun and positive environment. We are thrilled that the OPWDD surveyors noticed how happy the men and women who reside at HKP are. Every day, HKP staff show their kindness and dedication to the people they support through their diligent and hard work, ensuring that everyone is healthy, comfortable and experiencing activities that bring everyone enrichment and fun. We are truly thankful to have such an amazing team.

  • Great News! The Shoreham Intermediate Care Facility ROCKED the recent audit from the Department of Health! Last week, the DOH conducted their annual recertification of program, and Shoreham shined! Everything stood out to auditors, including the hardworking and caring Direct Support Professionals, fun and enriching activities for the men and women living at Shoreham, and the positive communication between everyone, but what impressed auditors the most was the high level of clinical care from our phenomenal Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP,) Physical Therapy, Speech, Nutrition, Nursing and Psychology staff. Our management team helps lead this team 24/7. Many of the 77 people living at Shoreham require around the clock healthcare and follow through, including meeting nutritional needs and repositioning to keep everyone healthy and comfortable. The maintenance department doesn’t miss a beat keeping everything running. It was clear to auditors just how much the hardworking staff care for the people living at Shoreham, ensuring that everyone’s healthcare needs are met all day, every day. The Shoreham ICF is truly a wonderful place for people to grow and build positive relationships. We truly are #ShorehamStrong
