Next spotlight in the Unlocking Impact Pitch Competition feature series: Rahat (Rumsan)! Rahat won our competition this year in Paris for using blockchain and #USDC to deliver automated humanitarian aid payouts to beneficiaries’ mobile devices before disasters strike. Leveraging smart contracts and multiple data sources, Rahat can verify triggers and disburse funds, even in low-tech environments. “This monsoon season, we are working with the Danish Red Cross in Nepal to streamline their workflow in anticipatory action and support more than 5,000 households in getting access to efficient and timely early warning messages and cash support. Using USDC widens the potential for beneficiaries to store and spend in the real economy, and it also works as a portable cash that moves wherever migrants need to go.” - Rumee Singh. Welcome to the first installment of our Unlocking Impact Pitch Competition feature series where we spotlight past winners. Today, we proudly present the Washington D.C. 2024 winner: Ensuro! By incorporating #USDC, Ensuro provides fast payouts, extending critical financial protection to underserved populations - including smallholder farmers in the Global South. “We’re in the process of expanding our crop insurance program into other parts of Kenya. This creates dual benefits - we can not only extend coverage to more farmers who need protection but also diversify the risks to make these kinds of policies more attractive to investors.” - Marco Mirabella and Guillermo Narvaja, Co-Founders of Ensuro Read the full spotlight. 👇

Let’s talk about #USDC and how it’s making sweeping advancements for developers globally. 🛠 First, to understand USDC it’s important to have a grasp of stablecoin infrastructure. Stablecoins are a digital currency that are pegged to a stable asset. For USDC, that’s the US dollar. Because USDC is a digital currency, anyone, anywhere, can securely and near instantly access a stable store of value at any time — with or without a bank account. Now, imagine you’re a developer building a peer-to-peer payment app, hoping to include lightning fast settlement times and to serve even the unbanked and underbanked. That’s exactly what’s possible with USDC. And that’s just the start. ⬇️

A joint collaboration between Blockchain at Berkeley and Circle Research, TXT2TXN stands for text-to-transaction and uses an LLM to parse freeform English text, classify it as a type of action, and convert it into a signed intent to be executed on-chain. Learn how combining AI and blockchain can shape the future of crypto applications. 👇

Businesses around the world are increasingly connected to global partners and customers, and open money like #USDC can help them execute cross-border B2B payments faster and more efficiently. The FSB found that globally, businesses pay fees of between 1.5% and 2.9% per transaction to send money across borders. By using blockchain technology to send value directly between digital wallets instead of via multiple intermediaries, digital dollars like USDC can reduce friction in cross-border transactions as well as costs for businesses. Many global organizations also look to international freelance workers or contractors for their business needs, but a Zero Hash survey found that nearly half of workers said they usually had to wait three days or more to receive cross-border payouts. Using USDC for cross-border payments can help make it easier to pay international talent quickly and efficiently. Money is now open, and organizations around the world can tap into USDC for faster cross-border payments that can help their business grow. Learn more about cross-border B2B payments with USDC.
