Your work is meaningful.

About us

Our mission is to empower young adults to integrate their faith into the workplace and beyond, for the sake of the flourishing of greater Indianapolis. We believe God’s people are meant to do the work of God in the space where they spend the bulk of their time – their workplace. Our flagship fellowship provides Indianapolis residents in their 20s and 30s with nine months of spiritual formation, professional development, and civic education. Fellows are given a renewed vision for how the work they do each day, when aligned with God’s heart for mission, is ministry. Ultimately, we hope to partner with God in making Indianapolis a city where everyone has enough and no one needs to be afraid.

It's officially back to school season here in Indianapolis! We are praying and cheering for all the teachers, administrators, school personnel, and parents whose work rhythms are shifting dramatically this month. Join us in praying this "liturgy for the labors of community" from Every Moment Holy, keeping all who are heading back to school in mind: "Our lives are so small, O Lord, Our vision so limited, Our courage so frail, Our hours so fleeting. Therefore give us grace and guidance for the journey ahead. We are gathered here because we believe that we are called together into a work we cannot yet know the fullness of. Still, we trust the voice of the One who has called us. And so we offer to you, O God, these things: Our dreams, our plans, our vision. Shape them as You will. Our moments and our gifts. May they be invested toward bright, eternal ends." Amen.

JUNE UPDATES from CCF: Here at Circle City Fellows, summer means two things: 1. Planning! We are busy planning for our 2024-2025 year. This includes reviewing feedback from last year's fellows, updating our curriculum, and more! David, Lindsey, and Ian met a few weeks ago to brainstorm about updates to our schedule and curriculum--we're excited for what's next! 2. Recruitment! Summer is also our big recruitment season. We are hoping and praying that our 2025 Class will represent Indianapolis well, with candidates from a variety backgrounds. We are thrilled with the applications we've received so far, and we still have room for more! Would you join us in praying for exactly the right candidates to find their way to us? And of course, if you know of anyone who might be interested in our fellowship program, please send them our way. https://lnkd.in/gauwMtg

There is some good conversation and lots of ideas in the comments of this post from LinkedIn where they ask, "What can companies do to support more women moving into leadership roles?" In the spring of our Fellowship, we always spend time talking about gender inequities in the workplace and this was a major focus of our conversation with our last class. Of course, this conversation only goes so far if men in leadership aren't listening! Definitely go check out the comments on the original post.

It will take an estimated 134 years to close the global gender gap, according to a new estimate from the World Economic Forum. In the U.S., women currently hold more than half (52%) of entry-level positions — but that proportion drops for more senior roles, LinkedIn data shows. Women hold just over a third (34%) and over a quarter (27%) of VP and C-suite positions, respectively. What’s more? That might not be improving. “The slow progress that had been made in women being hired into leadership roles is now starting to erode from a peak seen in 2022,” Sue Duke, LinkedIn’s head of global public policy, explained. The share of women hired into leadership in the U.S. fell from 41.4% in 2022 to 40.1% in 2024. “As the global economy has cooled, it’s women that have been disproportionately hit, reinforcing the systemic issues that hold women back in the workplace,” she continued. At the same time, women were found to have a 21% higher share of in-demand soft skills than men, including strategic leadership and collaboration. What can companies do to support more women moving into leadership roles? Share your thoughts in the comments below. ✍️: Taylor Borden 📊: Silvia Lara, Matthew Baird, LinkedIn's Economic Graph

Summer is a great time for sports in Indianapolis! (Also...LinkedIn only lets you put 4 options, so this doesn't include the Indians, but they've got some home games coming up, too!)

Applications are now open for our 2024-2025 Fellowship! https://lnkd.in/gauwMtg 3 reasons you might want to join us: 1. You don't see how your daily job responsibilities have anything to do with faith, spirituality, or God's mission in the world. Even if you work for a mission-driven organization, so much of our daily work can be mundane. So much of what we do each day can seem like merely a task to check off. We check emails, we sign off on reports or contracts, we file paperwork, we hold meetings, we create social media posts. What does any of that have to do with God's mission? Does our daily work actually contribute to the building of God's kingdom? This is one of the questions we explore in our fellowship program. Through weekly readings, a professional project, and deep conversation, you'll come away from the fellowship with answers to these questions. 2. You want to learn more about Indianapolis. Among our alumni are lifelong Indianapolis residents, as well as transplants from other cities and states--but fellows from both groups have come away from our 9 month program feeling as though they have a better sense of Indy's past, present, and future. Once a month during the fellowship, we spend some time thinking about the critical issues and systems in our city: transit, education, health care, public safety, race relations, housing, and more. You'll hear from passionate individuals, making a real difference in our city, and you'll have a better sense of what your own "next right step" might be. 3. You long for deep conversation about the important stuff in life. Demands on our time, attention, and energy are high. And in the midst of all that, it can be difficult to move beyond surface-level concerns to a deeper awareness of God's presence in the world or beyond maintenance-level conversations with the people around us. Participating in CCF's fellowship program will give you consistent opportunities to really dig in, connecting with other people who deeply care about their faith, their city, their work, and their community. Again and again, fellows tell us that these weekly conversations are a nourishing and cherished part of their experience. We dig deep, and we come out better for it. Intrigued? We invite you to apply now! Our priority application deadline is Monday, June 17. Visit our web site here for more information and to apply: https://lnkd.in/gauwMtg Questions? Comment below, or reach out to our Executive Director, David Bell: [email protected].
