#ThrowbackThursday: On this World Mental Health Day, and as the largest inpatient pediatric mental health provider in the country, we're reminded of the ribbon cutting celebration we had around this time last year for our new College Hill Mental Health Facility. The mental health crisis continues to grow in the region and across the nation, and this facility is one way we're helping address it. If someone in your family is experiencing mental health issues, please check out these resources from our Mental and Behavioral Health Institute that provide information and support for your family: https://lnkd.in/gZrjwCyu #WorldMentalHealthDay #WeAreCincyKids #MentalHealth

We are honored to once again be named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for the 2024-25 rankings. This year, we ranked No. 1 in three specialties, pediatric cancer, gastroenterology and pulmonology, and we placed in the top 10 for all 10 ranked specialties, making us the only health system in the 13-state Midwest region—and one of just two nationwide—to achieve this distinction. U.S. News & World Report also recognized us on its list of top hospitals for pediatric and adolescent behavioral health. In a significant change, Honor Roll hospitals are no longer ranked in a specific order, a shift that began with adult hospitals in 2023 and now applies to children’s hospitals. Many of our departments just returned from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) National Conference & Exhibition, and we really enjoyed connecting with attendees to exchange ideas and share the latest insights in pediatric care. Dr. Emily Miller, our Director of Perinatal Health Equity, Advocacy, and Policy, shared some key takeaways from the experience: civic engagement is associated with improved child health; partnering with families is critical to improving care; and Artificial intelligence technology will have a significant impact on patient management. Also during the conference, we're were thrilled to celebrate Wendy Pomerantz, MD, MS, who received the 2024 Fellow Achievement Award from the Council on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention. This prestigious award recognizes an AAP Fellow who has made an exceptional contribution to the field of injury, violence, and poison prevention. Join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved honor! #WeAreCincyKids
