The second article appeared in Chron.com This one is about my theatre work and my campaign. Because how many theatre people go seek statewide office! It literally all started with my retweeting a post someone else made about my being an extra in OFFICE SPACE. I’m not saying it’s a central point in my campaign, but a lot of people love that movie and it’s probably one of the funnest facts about me! https://lnkd.in/gkG9Pe9P

Yet another top tech company is ditching California for Texas. Simplilearn announced last week that it is moving its U.S. headquarters from San Francisco in the Golden State to Plano in the Lone Star State. Simplilearn said its move to Plano (5851 Legacy Circle, about 23 miles north of Dallas) is a "strategic shift" that "places the company at the heart of a thriving technology hub, enabling the company to leverage the abundant resources and opportunities in the Lone Star State." Texas is in the midst of the battery revolution. As of mid-September, nearly 5,000 megawatts (MW) of battery systems are in place in the Lone Star State, putting it second nationwide behind California. By 2026, Texas is projected to leap ahead of the Golden State in battery storage, thanks to ambitious new projects aimed at boosting the state's energy resources. But one Texas city isn't too hot on battery storage. Earlier this month, the Katy City Council unanimously rejected a proposal from Vesper Energy that would put another 500 MW into the state. Felt inspired by all the weddings I've been to this fall to write about it. Working at Chron.com has allowed me to flex my creative writing skills these past 10 months, and while I pride myself on my reporting skills, being able to write with voice is valuable when it comes to a digital-only site. https://lnkd.in/gD6Vzs2P
