Congratulations to Autumn Sample, Sr. Professional Staff Nurse II, at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for winning a KIDS First award this August! Part of Autumn’s nomination reads: “Throughout Autumn's time in the cardiovascular operating room and after, she has gone above and beyond all expectations. She continues to show selfless compassion and care to the patients of UPMC Children’s and her colleagues. Autumn has gone out of her way on weekends and after scheduled shifts staying overtime to put our patients first and meet any needs of the patients or the hospital. She truly models UPMC's vision and goals in her actions and the care she provides daily. She continually puts patients at the center of her care and shows great commitment to UPMC Children's Hospital. She has made a positive difference in so many others' lives, both patients and colleagues. Working in an operating room environment, you are working behind the scenes and because of that are often not recognized for the work that you put in daily. We see you Autumn and we appreciate you! Thank you, Autumn!.”
