Let’s give a warm welcome to Annie, the #SuffolkCAC Mental Health Team Intern!🎉 Annie is a second-year clinical student pursuing a Masters in Social Work at Boston College with a focus in children, youth, and families. Annie graduated with a BS in Psychology from the University of Tampa. Along with her MSW, she is pursuing a certificate in trauma at Boston College. She is passionate about working with children and providing support after they have experienced trauma, and she hopes to work at a CAC full-time in the future. Here at the CAC, Annie supports the team in connecting families with resources, providing clinical care to children, and supporting families. She is eager to learn from the CAC staff and expand her knowledge during her internship. Welcome, Annie! 🎉 Congratulations to Sophie Jordan on her 2nd year with the #SuffolkCAC! As the CSEC (commercial sexual exploitation of children) Prevention and Intervention Specialist, Sophie is responsible for daily case coordination coupled with training and outreach efforts. A critical member of our SEEN (Support to End Exploitation Now) team, Sophie effectively coordinates responses for youth who have experienced (or are at risk of) exploitation within Suffolk County and throughout the state, and serves as the primary point of contact for providers on multidisciplinary teams ensuring efficient and diligent communication amongst partner agencies. She is passionate about providing support and advocacy for youth and strives to recognize each child’s victimization, validate their individual experience, and respond adequately based on their specific needs. Sophie is a dedicated team player and expertly supports the SEEN team through comprehensive case coordination, statewide CSEC initiatives, and training facilitation and design. Today, our team visited Mahoney's Garden Centers in Brighton to share a new experience together in our community, learn about which plants thrive best indoors, and even pot our own plants to brighten up our office spaces!🌿 Our team works hard each day to center child abuse survivors' voices and advocate for safety, healing, and justice.
