This past March, Chicago Cares hosted two exciting co-design planning sessions with our amazing Volunteer Leaders and Lead Agencies. Together, we envisioned how Find Your Cause can connect passionate volunteers with our mission while supporting the goals of our partners. These collaborative sessions were instrumental in shaping our upcoming fall event. Co-design is all about active participation and creativity, where everyone contributes ideas and plans for the future. We're thrilled about the possibilities and can't wait to see the impact we'll create together! Chicago Cares is pleased to welcome our 2024 Associate Board! Our fourteen new members represent the many stakeholder groups that Chicago Cares partners with, including folks working in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. The Associate Board raises funds and amplifies Chicago Cares’ mission of mobilizing volunteers to build a stronger more unified Chicago. We are so excited to see what our 2024 Associate Board makes possible!

We’re celebrating one year of Rosie Drumgoole as CEO! Rosie knows Chicago Cares inside and out after 14 years of service and has continued to grow and evolve our work! This year Rosie has focused on rest and the wellbeing of our team- she entered this role with a true commitment to caring for her people, both internally and externally. So much so that she launched our Civic Love Campaign - a campaign rooted in the love that Chicagoans demonstrate each day. “Together we will be able to tell a new story about Chicago. A story that shows how Chicago is a place where love grows and expands. Because what I have learned the most over the past fourteen years at Chicago Cares is this… we are the kind of people who invest in love. And just like that summer is winding down, and the new school year is welcoming us back with open arms! We’re inspiring the sector to do things differently! Last month, at the Points of Light Conference, our inspiring colleagues Rosie Drumgoole and Cheyenne Shelby-Petersen led an interactive session focused on community-centric fundraising. Chicago Cares practices an abundance mindset when considering how our collective resources might be utilized. Our fundraising lens is grounded in equity and encourages mutual support between our partners. As part of this work, Chicago Cares has influenced over $10 million to fuel the work of community plans! Chicago Cares is redefining volunteerism.
