Members of Charlie Health’s Clinical Outreach Team traveled from across the country to beautiful Denver to spend quality time together this past week. The 2024 Annual Clinical Outreach Offsite provided an invaluable opportunity for our growing team to exchange best practices for connecting communities across the country to life-saving mental health treatment. We also set our sights on future goals to maximize our impact as we address critical mental health issues. And yes, we had a little fun, too, with a decades-themed kickoff party 🕺, bowling 🎳, and yoga 🧘♀️. The team left feeling supported by each other and strengthened in their shared commitment to Charlie Health’s mission. 💙 Interested in joining the Clinical Outreach Team? Making evidence-based, culturally congruent mental healthcare accessible to BIPOC communities is essential. That’s why there are BIPOC-specific mental healthcare resources designed to support those in the community with mental health issues and help BIPOC individuals process racial trauma (among other mental health challenges). Head to the link here to learn more about these options, including a Latinx therapy resource, a mental health collective dedicated to Black mental wellness, and Charlie Health’s BIPOC-specific programming: https://lnkd.in/e9FTDtCs. #CharlieHealth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #BIPOCMHAM #BIPOCMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #BIPOCMentalHealthAwarenessMonth2024

Check out our newly published peer-reviewed research in Frontiers in Psychology ➡ https://lnkd.in/eSkcUKM2. TLDR: The act of validating symptoms and experiences, allowing accommodations when requested, and exploring identity formation regardless of diagnosis, allowed Charlie Health clients who identified as neurodivergent to benefit from treatment. Key findings: 💡 Neurodivergent clients reported significantly worse mental health symptoms at intake than neurotypical clients. 💡 Additionally, at intake, clients who identified as neurodivergent but did not report an affirming medical diagnosis reported significantly worse mental health symptoms than those who did report an affirming medical diagnosis. 💡 There are a multitude of reasons why neurodivergent individuals may be self-identifying and not medically diagnosed, including barriers such as access, cost, and fear of not being believed. 💡 At discharge from Charlie Health, no significant differences were found in symptom change scores between neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals, or neurodivergent individuals with an affirming diagnosis and those without. #CharlieHealth #MentalHealthMatters #Neurodiversity #Neurodivergent
