Whether you’re a pour-over purist or can’t resist a frothy cappuccino, coffee is a universal love language. But … there’s no coffee without water. Today, in honor of #InternationalCoffeeDay, we’re raising our mugs to our brand partners for their continued support of clean water, including Volcanica Coffee, HOST Coffee Roaster, and the New York Coffee Festival. Because when we all come together, great things start brewing.

We bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries
About us
charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Since 2006, we've funded more than 171,000 water projects in 29 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 19.2 million people. 703 million people don’t have access to clean drinking water, that's one in ten of us. Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. The good news: there are simple solutions, from deep drilled wells to water filtration systems. With the help of 1 million+ donors and individual fundraisers, we've raised over $796M for both water and operations, forming a strong force against the water crisis. Join us!

Devi used to spend four hours each day walking across India’s Thar Desert to collect water for her family. Today, she has a #charitywater-funded rainwater harvesting tank only steps from her house. What used to take hours now takes minutes, thanks to your support.

Transparency has always been important to us — and we know it's important to you, too. It’s why we began with the bold promise we still live by today: 100% of all public donations bring clean water to people around the world. Bringing clean water to rural communities means building water projects in some of the most remote locations on Earth. We knew we needed to monitor our wells from afar, but no tool existed. So, we set out to make one. Our sensors equip local leaders with real-time performance data, monitoring 25 million liters of water each month. But it’s not just our water points that benefit: More than 20 organizations around the world are piloting our sensors to help improve their own projects. We’re committed to bringing sustainable access to clean water to as many people as possible — and sensors help us do just that. Learn more about this cutting-edge technology and how you can help push it forward at charitywater.org/sensors.

Loveness is a wife, mother, and community advocate. She lives in Malawi, in a region that has been battered by cyclones and scorched by dry seasons. Hers is a home constantly whipped between extremes, where nothing is certain or reliable. Not even needs as basic as water. “The only stress we get is from water problems. If we had peace about this problem, we would have healthier bodies,” Loveness told us. “Life has not been easy. All these years, we have hoped that things will change for the better.” Thanks to a generous group of #charitywater supporters, things are indeed changing for the better. A solar-powered piped system is bringing clean water — and hope — to Loveness’ community. Thank you for making this kind of transformation possible 💛

charity: water reposted this
Now that's #DontJustTakeGive in action! Thank you for all of your heartwarming working charity: water and for documenting and sharing memories with our Instax. ❤️
Getting to hear people’s stories is a gift, and one we don’t take for granted. Communities share their time, their memories, and so much of themselves with us when we visit. When it comes time to leave, we love to deliver printed photos as a small way to show our appreciation. And thanks to our friends at FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation, who donated instant cameras and film, we made hundreds of printed memories possible for families in Bangladesh.
